Our Favorites: Holiday Cocktail Recipes

We’d like to introduce our new series of blog posts, our favorites!

The holidays are in full swing and that can only mean one thing- time for holiday parties! Nothing is better than getting together with friends, old and new, and family you haven’t talked to all year. We decided to gather a list of our favorite holiday cocktail recipes and share them with you as our inaugural post.

First up is a Cranberry Orange Margarita, which is a delicious and refreshing cocktail, featuring one of my favorite Selzter brands- Spindrift.

  • 2 ounces silver tequila

  • 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice

  • 1/2 ounce orange liquor or Cointreau

  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar (to taste-the seltzer has no added sugar, hence why it’s a favorite!)

  • Cranberry Raspberry Spindrift (any brand will suffice though)

  • Ice

  • Coarse salt for rims

  • Fresh or frozen cranberries & orange peel for garnish

Add ice, tequila, orange juice, lime juice, Cointreau and sugar to shaker. Shake until cold. Pour into glasses over fresh ice, top with seltzer and garnish with berries and orange peel. Enjoy!

Next is a super yummy Christmas Sherbet Punch (which can easily be made as a mocktail for all the kiddos!)

  • 2 liter Hawaiian Punch

  • 2 liter Sprite

  • 46fl oz pineapple juice

  • 1 carton raspberry sherbet

Pour Hawaiian punch into 2 ice cube trays the night before. Save the remaining punch (this is optional but recommended). In a large bowl, pour punch, sprite, pineapple juice. Add punch ice cubes and raspberry sherbet. Let ice cubes and sherbet melt slightly to add more flavor

Stay Hydrated

Our very lovely DRH Team closed the store yesterday for a few hours to enjoy lunch and holiday cocktails.  We were celebrating Christmas, a successful 2015, lots of hard work, and toasting to 2016.

So in the spirit of our celebrations and the season, I'll leave you with a festive wintry, blue holiday cocktail.

We aren't taking credit for the recipe- just passing on some essential holiday entertaining 'buzz.' (I couldn't help it.)

Enjoy!  Make yourself one or three and admire everything you've accomplished this year.

Holiday Gift Guide

It's two weeks away from Christmas Eve (a.k.a. "not Eve-n ready"). But now, you can be ready.  All of the items in this edition of Products We Love are currently in stock and ready to be wrapped lovingly with paper and bows -or stuffed in a bag with tissue paper three seconds before you leave the house- either way, we have gifts.  HERE.  NOW.

Don't battle the mall or constantly monitor your Track Your Package links.  Just come in and leave with the last remaining gifts you need for people and be done with it.  We have something for everyone here- more than whats on this guide as we are unwrapping a new shipment right now.

We always have something going on so that our shoppers can have an enjoyable shopping experience.  This month, as you well know at this point, we are giving to anyone who spends $500 and over a knit fringed throw blanket.  These are so nice that not only are they perfect for your home with the cold season upon us, but they are utterly gift worthy.

As WELL.  Yes.  There's more.  If you buy two of our AU Collection candles you will receive a 3rd free of charge.  See #6 on our PWL Gift Guide below for one variety, but there are 6 total shapes available.  They are soy based, burn for over 60 hours and the sides won't collapse as the centers burn away.  PERFECT hostess gift, addition to a gift bag, and is a perfect stand alone gift for a funky friend.

Tis the season!
